The Weapon of Mass Destruction

The creation of the missile was a simple task with some room for creativity now and then. The primitives used are 3 cones, a cylinder, and 8 pyramids. The base of the missile, or the engine, will start out with a cone, the tip being a flat surface and another cone to mirror it on the top, but extending the height of the second cone. This cone will then hold a tall cylinder, or the body of the missile. Top that off with a cone for the nose and you're almost done. Now you will make the fins or the wings to the missile. You will have to create the pyramid and then convert it to editable poly. The Pyramid has 5 sides, however you want 4 instead for the connection to the body, the bottom, and sides. Enter vertex mode and select to points to the side of the pyramid and move it so one is right under the other so it's not visable (or fuse if available). Now weld and the pyramid should have a more permanent vertex for the fin/wing. The fins and wings can now be edited to your desire and moved around the missile. Finally, while an object is selected as a polygon, attach all parts to the missile and you're done

The result should look similar to this:

Summary

  • "Complicated" objects can be made with the most simple primitives

  • Primitives sometimes need to be changed to be suitable for a project
